DERWIN JAMES JR. SENIOR BBQ & SOCIAL 2024 - HAINES CITY, FL

On June 20th, Derwin James Jr., the standout safety for the Los Angeles Chargers and a proud Haines City native, hosted a heartwarming social for senior adults at the Lake Eva Event Center. The event, held in partnership with the City of Haines City, aimed to show appreciation for the community's senior members. Coined as Derwin's Senior BBQ & Social, the event brought the outdoor charm indoors with themed decor by Premier Party Orlando. Community leaders, including Haines City Commissioner Kim Downing and other members from the City of Haines City, attended to show their support. Guests enjoyed a catered BBQ, music by DJ Dalastmo, dancing, Derwin-inspired bingo, a photo booth, and a special meet-and-greet with Derwin himself. Nearly 200 senior adults participated in the festivities, making it a memorable afternoon of community bonding and fun.
